Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari is a proud family owned and operated business. They are known for going the extra mile for their customers, and will ensure you have fun, are safe and even add a lot of adventure to your ride.

Owners Tony Coppins and Sandy Hammat have a passion for delivering an exceptional marine based tourism experience second to none. They have built a reputation for providing a quality marine tourism experience that exceeds customer expectations and have been recognised with over a dozen awards, including the South Australian Tourism Hall Of Fame in 2021.

The now multiple award winning business provides tours daily from Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island from the comfort of their 28-seater snorkelling vessel ‘Sea Dragon’ and 38-seater vessel ‘Force of Nature’.

Meet The Owners

Tony is an aboriginal man who’s family originate from Barkindji country on the Barka, Darling River western NSW. Tony was born on Kaurna country and works closes with the Kaurna community and surrounding mobs.

Sandy was born and raised on Kangaroo Island and has a strong connection to its wildlife and landscapes.

Getting To Kangaroo Island

To get to the island it is a short 10-minute flight from Adelaide airport or the Sealink ferry departs Cape Jervis multiple times a day. Coach services from Adelaide to Cape Jervis are available and the ferry takes approximately 45-minutes to get to the island. Bookings are essential. When planning your trip keep in mind that Cape Jervis is 1 hour and 40 minutes away from Adelaide if travelling by vehicle.
